Pre-owned Rolex Submariner ref 168000 (1987) “triple zero Rolex” is a rare variation of the coveted stainless steel Submariner produced for a short time between 1988 and 1989. It follows follows the ref. 16800, featuring a similar, glossy dial with applied white gold hour markers. The biggest difference between the two is that the triple zero model marked the integration of the collection from 316L steel to the current standard – 904L steel. Rolex didn’t produce this rare model for long, replacing it in 1989 with the massively successful and similarly styled ref. 16610.
