This pre-owned Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. 116528 (2006–2007) is crafted in 18k yellow gold and fitted with the iconic Oyster bracelet. Its striking dark mother-of-pearl dial is accented with elegant Roman numeral hour markers, offering a refined contrast to the sporty chronograph layout. The fixed tachymeter bezel frames the 40 mm case, reinforcing the Daytona’s racing heritage. Pre-owned Rolex Daytona 116528 (2006 – 2007) was the first all-gold model after Rolex began producing its movements in-house post-2000. There were a few different gold Daytonas back then, but ref. 116528, in particular, is the version on a matching gold Oyster bracelet. It also features a slightly different tachymeter scale with thinner typography, tiny dots below each numeral, and with the graduations all facing upright when looking directly at the watch. Rolex would eventually change that orientation on later models, but this one remains a favorite among collectors in the know, even today. What’s really exciting about this gold Daytona, however, is the dial. The face is made of dark Mother of Pearl and adorned with polished yellow-gold Roman numerals. It’s luxurious yet has more depth than other dial options. At the same time, it’s still very much the classic Daytona tri-compax layout so many associate with the series.
