Pre-owned Rolex Datejust 36 ref 116201 (2007 – 2008) comes from the early years of Rolex’s Everose era and is, overall, a more contemporary take on the classic Datejust formula. Rolex introduced Everose gold in 2005 as the brand’s proprietary rose gold alloy, developed to better resist fading over time compared to traditional rose gold formulations. By incorporating a small amount of platinum into the alloy, Rolex created a warmer tone designed to retain its color for decades. When paired with Oystersteel, the combination is known as Everose Rolesor, giving watches like the ref. 116201 a sportier and more modern personality than traditional yellow Rolesor models. This model displays the time on a unique black concentric dial, one of the more distinctive dial styles Rolex offered during the mid-to-late 2000s. Rather than a flat surface, the dial features engraved circular grooves radiating outward from the center, creating changing textures and reflections depending on the lighting. It adds a surprising amount of depth to the otherwise monochromatic dial layout.
