Pre-owned Rolex GMT-Master II ref 16710 (1996) represents the final chapter before Rolex moved the GMT line into the ceramic era. Introduced in the late 1980s, this reference ran for nearly two decades and was the last to feature an aluminum bezel insert. This example features the red and black “Coke” bezel, a colorway that hasn’t returned in the modern ceramic lineup. The GMT-Master II itself debuted in 1983 with ref. 16760, bringing with it the independently adjustable GMT hand. That feature allowed tracking multiple time zones, but also came with a thicker case. The ref. 16710 refined things. It kept the functionality but slimmed down the profile, making it far more comfortable for daily wear. This example dates to the 1990s and features Tritium lume, which is still a nice, ivory hue on this model. Shop Rolex GMT-Master II Collection
