Pre-owned Rolex Air-King ref 116900 (2017) wasn’t just an update to the series when it debuted in 2016. It was the first time the Air-King truly stepped into Rolex’s Professional series territory. Gone was the smaller, more understated case. In its place was the 40mm Oyster case shared with the Milgauss, giving the Air-King a sturdier, more tool-watch presence on the wrist. The dial is what really sparked conversation. Inspired by Rolex’s partnership with the Bloodhound Supersonic project, it features bold 3-6-9 numerals paired with prominent minute markers, plus that famous green seconds hand and green-and-gold Rolex logo. It felt modern, slightly rebellious by Rolex standards, and very different from the rest of the catalog at the time. Powered by the caliber 3131, it carried anti-magnetic protection borrowed from the Milgauss platform. Rolex replaced it with the ref. 126900 in 2022, which brought with it a new case design, updated hour markers, and a newer-generation movement. Still, the 116900 stands as the Air-King’s first true Professional-era evolution. Shop Rolex Air-King Collection
