Pre-owned Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Extreme Tourbillon ref 150.2.34 is one of the more technically ambitious watches the brand has produced. Large, complex, and unapologetically bold, it combines several high-end complications inside a case designed to handle serious impact. The watch measures an imposing 47mm and features an 18k yellow gold case paired with a leather strap, giving the watch a strong presence on the wrist. The black dial is packed with information but remains surprisingly legible. A date scale circles the dial, while a second time zone sub-dial sits at 12 o’clock for tracking time in another part of the world. The real focal point, though, is the tourbillon at 6 o’clock. A tourbillon is a type of rotating cage that holds the balance wheel and escapement, the regulating organs of a mechanical watch. It slowly rotates, typically once per minute, in order to average out small positional errors caused by gravity. Originally invented in the early 1800s for pocket watches, the tourbillon is now one of the most respected complications in watchmaking because of the incredible precision and craftsmanship required to build one. Inside the watch is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s automatic tourbillon movement, developed and manufactured in-house. The Master Compressor Extreme case is also engineered to absorb significant shocks, using a multi-part structure designed to protect the movement during sudden impacts. The result is a watch that combines high horology with serious engineering. Complex. Oversized. And very Jaeger-LeCoultre. Shop Jaeger LeCoultre Master Collection
