Pre-owned Grand Seiko Heritage Collection ref SBGH333 (2023) is part of a special series developed alongside Watches of Switzerland, developed around Grand Seiko’s celebrated 62GS case design. Originally introduced in 1967, the 62GS was Grand Seiko’s first automatic mechanical watch and is still one of the brand’s most recognizable case profiles today. Unlike traditional watch designs that rely on a prominent bezel, the 62GS architecture minimizes it almost entirely, placing greater visual emphasis on the dial and the sharply faceted lugs. It also gives the watch a noticeably more expansive appearance on the wrist. This ref. SBGH333 has a dark metallic gray dial finished with an intricate textured pattern inspired by the night sky over Japan’s Jodogahama Beach. Grand Seiko has made a reputation around nature-inspired dials, and this one is no exception. The bright blue seconds hand and matching blue accents around the chapter ring create a subtle contrast that shifts beautifully depending on lighting conditions. Zaratsu polishing throughout the case and bracelet gives the watch the crisp reflections collectors expect from Grand Seiko, while the Hi-Beat caliber 9S85 beats away inside at 36,000 vibrations per hour for enhanced precision and a distinctly smooth seconds-hand sweep.
