This pre-owned Rolex Submariner ref. 16610 (1993) features a 40mm stainless steel Oyster case with a black aluminum bezel insert and matching black tritium dial. It is fitted to a stainless steel Oyster bracelet with a diver’s extension. The watch is equipped with service hands and a service pearl. A classic Submariner configuration known for its clean design, durability, and everyday versatility.
Pre-owned Rolex Submariner ref. 16610 (1993) marked an important, long-running chapter in Submariner history. Introduced in the late 1980s, the ref. 16610 was in production for more than two decades before being replaced by the ref. 116610 in 2010. The example you see here is the last generation of time-and-date Submariners to feature an aluminum bezel insert before Rolex transitioned the collection to ceramic Cerachrom bezels. It’s also part of the pre-Super Case era, with slimmer lugs and more balanced proportions than the broader, more angular Submariners that followed. Many collectors consider the 16610 to be the quintessential modern Submariner for that reason.
