Pre-owned Rolex Day-Date 36 Ref. 18238 (1993) is, in many ways, the quintessential gold Rolex Presidential. The collection has been in continuous production in some form or another since the 1950s, but the 18238 is where it really started to veer in a more modern direction, without forsaking its decades-old design codes. Like the models that came before it, the case is 36mm and features a lovely fluted bezel. The President bracelet, with its rounded, three-piece links, gives the watch an iconic Rolex President aesthetic. And we can’t forget the dial, with the date at 3 and the day spelled out in full at 12, the latter of which was a first of its kind when the Day-Date came to market in 1956.
