Pre-owned Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 16610 (1996), while not the first model to feature white-gold applied hour markers or other modern design elements such as scratch-resistant sapphire or a unidirectional diver’s bezel, is often considered by many to be the first properly “modern” Submariner. It boasts nearly every upgrade available to the collection, including the much-beloved caliber 3135, a 300-meter depth rating, and applied hour markers instead of painted lume. At the same time, it represents only a brief blip in the collection’s overall history, one that would eventually see the iconic diver transition to a tougher sapphire and a newer movement with a longer power reserve. Still, many are drawn to this model for its unique aesthetics and its place in Rolex history. Shop Rolex Submariner Collection
