This vitnage Omega Flightmaster ref. 145.013 is a cult-favorite among collectors, purpose-built for aviation with its bold 43mm asymmetrical case and highly legible multi-function chronograph dial. It features a 12-hour counter, running seconds, and a vivid blue GMT hand for tracking a second time zone, all controlled by uniquely designed pushers and crowns. Powered by the manual-wind Caliber 910, this distinctive and color-rich tool watch represents one of Omega’s most unconventional and collectible professional models.
Vintage Omega Flightmaster Ref 145.013 (circa 1970) is an interesting and fairly uncommon watch. Omega produced the Flightmaster for less than 10 years, it came out in 1969 and was discontinued around 1977. The collection was developed as a navigational tool for pilots and other world travelers, including the crew of the Concorde British Airways and Soviet Cosmonauts. During its production, two generations came to market distinguished by either the caliber 911 or 910 movement. Omega only made four different models of the Flightmaster; the ref. 145.013, like this watch, ref. 145.026, ref. 145.036, and solid gold ref. BA 345.0801. This example features the 910 movement and yellow hand color way. This is from the first generation of Flightmasters and the dial features a 24 hour register at nine o’clock, later references would have the running seconds.
