Pre-owned Panerai Luminor Submersible ref PAM01287 (2023) was introduced at Watches & Wonders 2022 and marked an important step in Panerai’s growing focus on recycled materials and more sustainable manufacturing. The watch uses eSteel, a partially recycled steel alloy first introduced on earlier Luminor models. In this case, recycled material makes up a significant portion of the watch’s overall construction, including much of the 44mm case itself. Beyond the materials, the PAM01287 is simply one of the more visually striking modern Panerai dive watches. The glossy green gradient dial transitions subtly into darker tones toward the edge, giving the watch far more depth than a standard matte tool-watch dial. Combined with the matching green ceramic bezel insert, a first for Panerai’s Submersible collection at the time, the overall design set feels noticeably more contemporary while still retaining the bold military-inspired personality Panerai collectors expect.
